Rocks For Kids - This is my favorite web page on mineral identification. It is clear, easy to use, and infomative.

Minerals A-Z - This site has many beautiful images of minerals from A to Z.

Earth Science World Image Bank - A great collection of images on all things earth science related.

Gemology
Free Gemology Courses and Resources - A very good site with links to 25 free Gemology courses and information.

Mineralogical Socities
American Federation of Mineralogical Societies - A non-profit educational federation of seven similar regional organizations of gem, mineral and lapidary societies. The Lawrence County Rock Club is a member of this federation.

Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies - The Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies was organized in 1940, and one of the original four founders of the AFMS in 1947. It encompasses a region of 11 states and has about 150 different clubs. The Lawrence County Rock Club is one of them.

American Lands Access Association - Though not really a mineralogical organization per say, it benifits anyone with an interest in collecting rocks and minerals. Its purpose is promoting and ensuring the right of the amateur hobby collecting, recreational prospecting and mining, and the use of public and private lands for educational and recreational purposes; and to carry the voice of all amateur collectors and hobbyists to our elected officials, government regulators and public land managers. The Lawrence County Rock Club is also a member of this association.

Mineralogy Club of Antwerp, Belgium - The Mineralogy Club of Antwerp, Belgium has a beautiful web site with some stunning photos of Fluorescent Minerals. They also have links to practically everything to do with mineralogy in Europe, the U.S. or elsewhere. They also were good enough to add a link to our site on their Mineralogy Clubs outside Europe list.

Indiana Geological & Water Survey - The place to go for anything and everything to do with geology in Indiana.

United States Geological Survey - Similar to the Indiana geological survey for the entire U.S.

Topo Maps
MyTopo Maps - An interactive map site that has aerial photos and topo maps. Topographical maps contain a wealth of information for anyone venturing into the outdoors.
